Saratoga is steeped in history and tradition. A key battle in 1777 coined Saratoga as the turning point of the Revolutionary War. Saratoga has a rich history of horse racing drawing the biggest names to our racing facility that dates back to 1863. The spas and mineral waters have been legendary for centuries and hosted guests such as Governor Franklin Roosevelt. Saratoga was a frequent hangout in the casinos during prohibition for notorious gangsters such as Al Capone and Lucky Luciano. The history has cleaned up any illicit activity of the early 20th century and adopted the 3 H’s – history, health, and horses. (change the orange icons to those 3 H’s Tristan.
