So, kind of a newbie question with regard to spreads. Take the 23 Mar. SPY 274/272 spread; it’s well in the money (past the lower strike), so when is best to take profit?

At this point the spread is worth only about 1.10 (and that would be with a good fill). I realize there’s only 4 days left, but is it safe to assume that the spread will widen (towards 2.00) as expiration nears (and assuming the underlying price remains 272)?
How much of that 2.00 can one reasonably hope to capture?

Please advise, as maybe others somewhat new to vertical spreads weigh when to get out.
    Thanks!

    Hi Todd,
Will you put the update on the INTC trade you mention in the video on the trade’s page?
The other comment I wanted to make is that there seems to be a mistake in the I4 cell formula of the position calculator when you are using Put Debit Spreads in cell C2. It should return the same amount as the debit paid, but it returns the same value as the reward.
    Cheers! Thanks!

    Hi Todd,

Question on the way out of the money debit spreads, ie TSLA. Should there be any reason to sell for any kind of money or just let it ride and count the loss? Is there ever a time to get something out of a losing trade such as this? Thanks

Todd I sent a comment last time regarding your chart. Can you pls show the numbers on the right hand side. I can’t scroll to the right on your chart for some reason ( I use a Mac). it will be very helpful if you display those numbers clearly

      Hi Anita,

I think I follow? Can you give me a time in the video where you could not see them and I’ll try to avoid that?

      Todd.
